School closed Monday 25th January

School will be closed tomorrow due to adverse weather conditions. The freezing temperatures overnight will result in increased dangerous driving conditions and hazards on the school site.
Assembly will still take place at 9am (Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) and 9.30am (Years 3-6).
There might be some changes to published learning for classes so please check Class Dojo tomorrow for the up to date activities.
Please remember, snow days don’t happen often so please enjoy them.
Remember learning can can take place in many ways, plus these days build memories with and for your children, especially at this current time.
Here are some snow based ideas you might like to do.
Art: snow sculptures

Design Technology: build a snow bridge or igloo if you are up for it!

Science: Freeze something in ice (try filling a balloon with water and food colouring – place it outside and wait for it to freeze overnight – once frozen, remove balloon to leave a coloured ice marble; know that zero degrees is freezing point.

English: Instructions to make a snowman; winter poem

Maths: how many snowballs can you make and throw in a minute; look at the different temperatures of a weather app (including negative numbers); how tall is your snowman?

Geography: which areas in the UK have the most snow?

History: What years was the biggest UK snow fall? Has the River Thames ever frozen over.

Take care and stay safe.
