We would like to invite all our families to take part in our
‘3rd Annual Scarecrow Competition’.

This year’s theme: SPORTS

When will the competition take place?: Monday 10th October to Friday 14th October
Scarecrows will be on display down the main pedestrian entrance.

Rules for making your scarecrow:
• It can be anything related to Sports or the Olympics
• You are encouraged to use recycled materials
• You can use props or accessories as required
• It must be made from scratch and be able to withstand weather conditions!
• Please give your scarecrow a name and provide a board with a title or description and the name of the child/family and the classes they are in.
• And the most important rule? – Have lots of fun making it!

Where should I put my scarecrow?:
Bring it into school on Friday 7th October if you wish us to put it up. Or, set it up yourself on the morning of Monday 10th October (before 9.30am).

When the competition is finished:
We would ask that all scarecrows are taken by their owners by 4pm on Friday 14th October.

Judging:
Will be done by invited dignitaries and will take place on Monday 10th October. Each scarecrow will be judged and awarded either a ‘bronze merit’, ‘silver merit’ ‘gold merit’ or ‘best in show’. These will be attached to each scarecrow for you to see.

We will also be making some scarecrows in school so if you have any old clothes (shirts, trousers, sports clothes etc) – please start sending these in.
