Kingsbury Competitions

Year 2 Multi Skills

On the 2nd November, 11 of our Year 2 children went to Shard End Sports Hub to compete in the Year 2 multi skills competition. The children took part in seven different activities involving running, throwing, catching and kicking. The children competed really well and came 2nd out of 5 teams who were at the event meaning they were through to the finals on the 8th. At the finals, once again the children competed really well and improved on all their scores from the previous round to come in the top 7 teams in the partnership! Well done and a big thank you to the parents who came and supported the team!

Inclusion Festival

Also on the 2nd November, 10 of our children from across the school joined other schools in the partnership to take part in an inclusion festival. They were involved in lots of different games and activities such as Seated Volleyball and Boccia. The children had a fantastic morning and were lucky enough to meet Jenna Downing, Olympic medallist. They even got to try on her medal!

Gifted and Talented Festival

On the 9th November, 9 children from Year 4, 5 and 6 went for a day at Nechells Futzal centre to work with KSSP apprentices trying out new and exciting sports. This included Boxercise,

Volleyball and even tried out Rugby with local team, Wasps RFC. The children had a fantastic day and one of them was awarded for demonstrating the School Games Value ‘Determination’.

Year 5 and 6 Athletics

On Tuesday 14th November, 15 of our Year 5 and 6 children competed at

Erdington Academy in Sports Hall Athletics. The children had various track and field events to take part in such as javelin, long jump and speed bounce.

Following these they then took part in different types of relay races. All children really enjoyed themselves and showed great team spirit and sportsmanship throughout, cheering each other on as well as other teams in the races. Well done to all who took part!

Erdington District

On Wednesday 29th November, a team of Year 4 children went to the PowerLeague in Yardley for a football competition with all the schools in the Erdington District League. The team played fantastically well and there were some superb goals scored in all three games. We were unfortunate to just miss out on the quarter finals but the whole team thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done and a big thank you to the parents who came and supported the team!
