Dear Mums and Dads,
I hope you are all as well as can be. We have been working hard behind the scenes to put support and provision in place for childcare and learning. Here are the key updates for today:
Childcare Provision
We have arranged key childcare to take place on site which will be run by Colebourne staff. This is for those families who must work to provide vital support for society at this time and are not able to arrange for their child to be at home. All of these families have been contacted with details of this provision. If for whatever reason you have an emergency and you need childcare, please get in touch (see new contact details below) and we can see what we can do to help.
Home Learning Packs
On Tuesday 24th March between 10am and 2pm we are asking you to pop to school to collect a few things including:

  • A personalised learning pack which includes login and password details for a number of fantastic new online learning platforms which we know the children we really enjoy
  • Details of how the children can access and upload to their Class Dojo portfolios
  • Any PE kits and items that have been left in the classrooms
  • A few library books if you would like to borrow
  • If you are not able to collect in person – we will aim to post / deliver these packs to you. (We may ask for volunteers to help us with this!)

Online Learning
In addition to the learning packs we will be launching our own home learning platform next week.
There will be a whole school main page and this will contain links to various other pages which will include year group specific Maths and English weekly learning.
We will be also be launching our whole school theme which will last for a number of weeks. The Theme will be Space and this area will contain some wider curricular ideas for the children to have a go at or learn about.

Colebourne Coronavirus Helpline
We have also set up a Colebourne Coronavirus Helpline in case any of our families need some extra support during this time for things like food, access to advice, or if you are concerned about your own or a child’s welfare.
Email anytime: support@colebourne.bham.sch.uk

Weekly Food Package
We know that for some of our families, this situation may have a financial burden on them so we have decided to offer any family a weekly package of basic food which would cover the ability to make packed lunches for that week. This will be available to all families – not just those who are eligible for free school meals. Details of this will come out next week and there will be a sign up scheme to allow you to request one of these food packages, subject to availability from our suppliers.
That’s all for now.
Stay safe and remember – show kindness.
Mr. Guest.
