SCARECROW COMPETITION
We would like to invite all our families and local businesses to be part of our second annual scarecrow competition.
This year’s theme: Famous People
When will the competition take place:
Monday 12th October to Thursday 22nd October (AM)
Scarecrows will be on display down the main pedestrian entrance.
Rules for making your scarecrow:
• It can be anything related to the Children’s books (Characters etc)
• You are encouraged to use recycled materials
• You can use props or accessories as required
• It must be made from scratch and be able to withstand weather conditions!
• Please give your scarecrow a name and provide a board with a title or description
• And the most important rule? – Have lots of fun making it!
Where should I put my scarecrow?:
Bring it into school on Friday 9th October if you wish us to put it up. Or, set it up yourself on the morning of Monday 12th October (before 9.30am).
When the competition is finished:
We would ask that all scarecrows are taken by their owners by 4pm on Thursday 22nd October .
Judging:
Will be done by invited dignitaries and will take place on Monday 12th October. Each scarecrow will be judged and awarded either a ‘bronze merit’, ‘silver merit’ ‘gold merit’ or ‘best in show’. These will be attached to each scarecrow.
