Dear all,

Just a quick Friday update this week with a few key items.

Attendance

A huge thank you to everyone for their commitment to getting children into school. We know this is a strange time with some children having to self-isolate for various reasons.

Attendance this week has been 94%, which is fantastic considering the circumstances.

Professor McGinty

We had the amazing Professor McGinty in school this week for Year 3 and Year 4 with his adjusted Covid-secure show!

The children were once again enthralled and learned lots!

Birmingham Lockdown

Please remember the current Birmingham restrictions mean that you should NOT be visiting any other household. Some children have been discussing in general class talk about visits to other people’s houses; this should not be happening (unless they are part of your support bubble – meaning a single adult household joining up with one other household).

The Birmingham Covid rate has increased again this week to 130 per 100,000 (up from 82 per 100,000 the week before). Everyone needs to be doing what they can to help protect each other, the children, the staff and the education of the children.

Ipad Scheme Meeting

We are looking to rapidly roll out ipads for all children in Years 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 (Year 4 already have them after a successful launch last year). To make this a reality we need you support.

Mr. McKinney and I will be hosting a short ZOOM meeting to explain the scheme, the costs, and the benefits for your child. This will be on Wednesday 30th September at 1pm via Zoom. Details will be texted/ put on ClassDojo next week.

Please join us if you can. Additional details will be published for those unable to attend.

Parking

We have had two separate incidents of cars blocking residents driveways this week. Please remember to park considerately. Thank you.

Face coverings

Thank you for your continued support. A few key points:

  • Please try to have a face mask rather than using a thin headscarf
  • Please wear mask for the whole time on site (a few people are only keeping them on while staff are watching!)
  • A few parents are exempt from wearing masks so please be aware and tolerant of this. We know who these parents are and we will continue to challenge anyone else who is not wearing a face mask.

I wish you all a very restful weekend.
