During literacy today, we started our new topic for the week. This is nonsense poetry. The children wrote down everything they knew about poetry and lots of children thought back to our last poetry topic, where we watched poets performing their own poems.
A firm favourite quickly became Michael Rosen and his poems ‘No Breathing in Class’ and ‘Chocolate Cake’. I told my literacy group that I would send Michael Rosen a message on Twitter to let him know that we loved his work and he replied to let us know some of his own favourite nonsense poems!
I can’t wait to tell them in the morning and share the poems with them!
