ICE HOUSE CHALLENGE

  • Autumn 1: During our exciting school design challenge, students put their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test by designing and building floatable pirate ships, inventive grabbing devices to retrieve dragon eggs and beautifully water-lily-inspired plates. The challenge encouraged hands-on learning as children explored concepts of buoyancy, balance and design while bringing their imaginative ideas to life. The enthusiasm, effort and ingenuity shown by all participants were outstanding, making the event a great success. A huge congratulations goes to Fire House for their excellent designs and well-executed solutions, well done to everyone involved!
  • Autumn 2: Our primary school talent show challenge was filled with festive cheer and excitement as children spent the morning rehearsing Christmas themed songs, dances and role plays. The school was buzzing with creativity and teamwork as each house worked together to prepare their performances. After careful selection, each house chose their best act to showcase in a special talent show for the whole school, celebrating confidence, collaboration and performance skills. The standard was incredibly high, making it a joyful and memorable event for everyone. Congratulations to Ice House for their winning performance, impressing the audience with a fantastic dance to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, a truly show-stopping routine!

Spring 2: This term’s House Challenge focused on Problem Solving, with pupils working in teams to tackle a variety of exciting and brain-teasing activities. Throughout the challenge, students earned points for their Houses by participating in:

  • Building challenges
  • Maths puzzles
  • Jigsaw challenges
  • Possibility-finding tasks
  • Escape room scenarios

And even a Traitors themed challenge with Faithful’s working together to banish the treacherous Traitors! The energy, teamwork, and determination on display were fantastic across all year groups. Congratulations to this half term’s winning House: Ice House! Well done to everyone who took part!

Summer 1: Our House Challenge focused on a walking challenge around the school grounds. All children participated enthusiastically, demonstrating excellent teamwork, determination, and encouragement towards one another throughout the event. It was wonderful to see pupils supporting their house teams and motivating their friends to keep going. Some children showed exceptional stamina, completing an impressive 15 laps of the school. The challenge was a fantastic way to promote physical activity, resilience, and house spirit, and we are very proud of everyone’s efforts.
